Mother's Day

This is the month we honor our mothers. It’s a time we consider not only our biological mothers but the many women who have been mentors or encourages to us along
the way. Many times there is a unique educator, mentor or significant woman that has made an impact on your life that comes to mind. For me it was Mrs. McBee,
my fifth grade teacher. She would be the bar that all other teachers would be measured against. She instilled in me a love for learning that has followed me throughout
my life and is only growing stronger with every passing year. I consider myself a lifelong learner and I’m trying my best to share this passion with my very own staff.

Another woman who stands out in my life would be my sister, Kay. Kay taught me to read before we were due to learn it in school. She was incredibly patient and
continued to encourage me throughout my school days, from kindergarten through high school.

Lastly I would be remiss if I didn’t mention my own mother. She is as unique as they come. I can’t count how many people who have said
I can’t really work her out. I think this level of intrigue is incredible. She disarms people by never saying what is expected!
She is empathetic, she gets to know everyone she meets before ever mentioning a word about herself. My mother is a rare find and although
she would be considered atypical by most, I wouldn’t trade her for the world.
